The Faculty of Engineering are delighted to be offering a limited number of Dean’s International Excellence Awards worth £7,000 and £10,000 to exceptional applicants joining a postgraduate taught programme in September 2025. All self-funded, international (non-EU), fee-paying postgraduate taught applicants joining one of our on campus programmes will be considered.

All eligible international offer holders will automatically be considered and contacted before 31 July 2025 if successful. A scholarship application is not required.

If successful, the scholarship details will be added to your student record once payment of deposit has been received, and the funds will be automatically deducted from your overall tuition fees. 

Eligibility

There are a limited number of Excellence Awards available of £7,000 - £10,000.  Students are required to demonstrate academic excellence (usually a UK first class undergraduate degree or international equivalent), and the potential both to make a significant contribution to the Strathclyde community during their studies and in their chosen profession upon graduation. The deadline to be considered for the Dean’s International Excellence Award is 31 July 2025. There is no application process for this award and chosen offer holders will be contacted in advance of the deadline.

Important things to note:

• The scholarships are available for eligible self-funded, international (non-EU) fee-paying applicants enrolling on a full-time course within the University of Strathclyde’s campus in Glasgow starting September 2025 only. The scholarships cannot be deferred or transferred to any other entry points. 

• The scholarships will be awarded automatically and no application is necessary. Please note that the scholarship details will be added to your student record once payment of deposit has been received, and the funds will be automatically deducted from your overall fees. 

• Those who receive full sponsorship from a government office or embassy are not eligible for these scholarships.

• In order to be considered for a scholarship an applicant must hold an offer to study on a full-time postgraduate taught course in September 2025.

• Students are only eligible for one scholarship per academic year from the University of Strathclyde.

• Students who do not meet any of the required criteria will automatically not be considered.

To celebrate the 850th anniversary of the city of Glasgow, we are delighted to offer scholarships to all eligible postgraduate taught, self-funded, international (non-EU) fee-paying students, joining an on-campus course in the Faculty of Engineering in September 2025.

We're delighted to announce our EU Engagement Scholarships to support full-time students commencing postgraduate taught courses in 2025/26. This includes eligible courses starting in January 2026.

The scholarships will be available to those EU applicants who would have previously been eligible for Home (Scottish/EU) fee status but, because of Brexit, will now be classified as being eligible for International fee status

Our postgraduate scholarships will be available for students who meet our eligibility criteria.

Eligibility

The scholarships will be available to those EU applicants who would have previously been eligible for Home (Scottish/EU) fee status but, because of Brexit, will now be classified as being eligible for International fee status.

Your application for study will be checked for eligibility when you apply, therefore you do not need to make a separate application for this scholarship.

The scholarships will be automatically applied to:

EU nationals and their dependant family members who are self-funding and:

• are resident in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the UK at the time of application; and

• are classed as international for tuition fee purposes; and

• are entering a full time degree undergraduate or postgraduate taught Masters programmes in 2025

This scholarship does not apply to students classified as Home or RUK for tuition fee purposes.

The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences is delighted to offer a number of Deans Excellence scholarships worth £10,000 to international students joining one of our Postgraduate Taught programmes in September 2025.

All eligible international offer holders will automatically be considered for a scholarship, therefore no separate scholarship application is required.

Eligibility

Important things to note

• Separate applications are not necessary and you will be automatically considered based on your programme application and supporting documents.

• To be considered for a scholarship an applicant must hold an offer to study a full-time attendance course in the 2025/26 academic year.

• Students are only eligible for one scholarship per academic year from the University of Strathclyde.

• Online, blended learning programmes, PGDE, and MSW Social Work programmes are not eligible for these scholarships.

• To receive their scholarship, awardees must enrol in studies commencing in September 2025 and continue to meet all of the above eligibility criteria.

• Scholarship recipients will be expected to engage with student ambassador activities during their course of study, such as supporting student recruitment activities and events.

• The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences’ decision on the awarding of scholarships is final.

The Faculty of Science are delighted to be offering our Faculty of Science International Excellence Award for Postgraduate Taught Masters Students. We invite applicants who hold an offer of a place of study on September 2025 entry Faculty of Science on-campus Masters programme and are classified as international for fee status, to apply.  The scholarships value will range from £7,000 to £8,000.

The scholarships will be awarded on merit, rather than financial need, to candidates who can demonstrate excellent academic performance (current/and or previously gained), any relevant extra-curricular or professional experience and career development, and who will contribute to the overall academic, cultural and experiential of the programme cohort.

Eligibility

• The value of the Faculty of Science International Excellence Award for Postgraduate Taught Masters Students is £7,000 - £8,000 and will be deducted from your fees. 

• The scholarships are available for eligible self-funded, international (non-EU) fee-paying applicants enrolling on a full-time PGT Masters course on-campus, starting September 2025. The scholarships cannot be deferred or transferred to any other entry points. 

• Those who receive full sponsorship from a government office or embassy are not eligible for these scholarships.

• Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis following a review of the application and statement submitted and assessed based on the academic performance (current and/or previously gained), motivations, experience and career aspirations highlighted.

• Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis. Awards may be allocated early in the application cycle and so making an early application for admission is advised.

• Please do not submit duplicate scholarship applications as all scholarship application forms submitted will remain under consideration until the deadline of 31 July 2025.

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be deemed International for course fee status and hold an offer on an SBS MSc programme for the September 2025 intake.

The value of these scholarship awards will range from £6,000 to £8,000, depending on the subject area and course fee. 

All candidates who hold a programme offer will be automatically considered. Therefore, no separate scholarship application is required, as the award decision will be based on the overall quality of the MSc programme application.  

Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis from the end of January 2025 and the final deadline for consideration of awards will be 31 July 2025. All applicants will normally be notified of the Scholarship Committee's decision within one week of receiving an MSc programme offer.

EU Engagement Scholarships: Undergraduate Study

Our undergraduate scholarships will be awarded for each year of study for students who meet our eligibility criteria.

• £5,000 per year for Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences courses

• £5,000 per year for Strathclyde Business School courses

• £8,000 per year for Faculty of Engineering courses

• £6,000 to £8,000 per year for Faculty of Science courses, depending on the subject area

EU Engagement Scholarships: Postgraduate Taught Courses

Our postgraduate scholarships will be awarded to those students who meet our eligibility criteria.

• £9,000 to 12,000 for Strathclyde Business School, dependent on subject area (excluding MBA)
